As a black, queer, multi-hyphenate creator, I engage with cyclical patterns through physicalized and written forms. Connected to sound – functional and spontaneous – I am led by a strong intuition tethered to repetition, embodiment, and rhythm. My approach to movement generation utilizes compositional lenses, centering archival practices of note-taking, video, and voice memos. In tracking lineages with the intent(ion) of documenting and preserving our interwoven paths, I am invested in discovering what shapes us as human beings while embracing and amplifying voices that are disproportionately silenced.

I am drawn to accumulating remnants marking the passage of time. These tangible and amorphous histories initiate a dialogue between the bodies currently and formerly inhabiting the space. I am interested in reflection of and response to the times we are living in through the integration of body, mind, and spirit. I prioritize spontaneous compositions within and outside of the container of dance and performance: improvisation, impulse, channeling, coincidence, and mis/alignments. Curating chance and highlighting the process as [much as] the product are present in my research as I aim to observe what arrives and evolve in the moment.
