About us
Scrap Arts Music: Original, High-Octane Invention We start with SCRAP. We transform it through the ARTS of sculpture, choreography and film. And we draw upon all we know to create an unforgettable and unique MUSIC experience… Five athletic musicians perform with 145+ mobile invented instruments — all hand-made by group leader and composer, Gregory Kozak. The result? Unexpectedly beautiful Experimental Pop Percussion that is intricate, playful and powerful. “Children of Metropolis,” like all Scrap Arts Music works, embodies themes of resilience, sustainability, creativity and humour—values that resonate with audiences in today’s world. Its all-ages appeal and emphasis on storytelling through music, movement, and design make it a versatile and marketable show for a wide range of venues and festivals, from performing arts centers to family-oriented events.”Children of Metropolis” embodies themes of resilience, sustainability, creativity and humour—values that resonate with audiences in today’s world. Programming / Repertoire / Offerings
Scrap Arts Music’s latest production, “Children of Metropolis,” is an amalgam of original live music performance, 88+ futuristic instruments, and an all-new full-length b+w film. The performance offers an immersive, multi-sensory experience of sound, sculpture and film. Inspired by Fritz Lang’s 1920s classic sci-fi film, Metropolis, Scrap Arts Music captivates and delights with a tapestry of hand-made music and comedic, surreal visuals.
In addition to a 70 minute program with 20 minute intermission (90 minutes total), we offer a 55-minute long educational matinee and workshops tailored to community needs.
