On Tuesday, May 20, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. ET, arts and cultural workers, educators and advocates will testify at the New York City Council’s Education Committee joint public hearing with the Committee on Finance to finalize the city budget for FY2026, which takes effect on July 1.

This is an important moment for our community to share information about the impact, barriers to providing, and outcomes related to arts education in NYC.

• 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Department of Education
• 2:00 p.m. Public

What you can do:

• Testify at City Hall or virtually via Zoom by registering at least 24 hours in advance, or as early as possible.
• Or submit written testimony up to 72 hours after the hearing, via the Council’s website or by emailing them to testimony@council.nyc.gov.
