Cloudways, our hosting provider, securely stores our website database on our server which is located in the USA. Analytics

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics for anonymous reporting of site usage. This allows Dance/NYC to better understand its users and how they are interacting with the platform. No personalized data is stored. Google only stores an anonymized version of a users’ IP address that is assigned at the time a user visits this website. Google Analytics creates a permanent cookie in a users’ browser to identify you as a returning visitor on subsequent visits to the Dance/NYC website, however, this cookie is only used by Google.

Google reCAPTCHA (“reCAPTCHA”)

ReCAPTCHA collects personal information from users to determine whether the actions on our Site are made by people to prevent spam. The reCAPTCHA algorithm checks to see if there is a Google cookie placed on the computer being used. An additional reCAPTCHA-specific cookie will then be added to the user’s browser allowing a complete snapshot of the user’s browser window at that moment in time.

Information gathered includes:

For User Accounts:

At Dance/NYC, we maintain a platform of active professional performers. As such, if your account has been inactive for a period of 180 days, you will receive an email from privacy@dance.nyc to confirm your account is active and you still wish to remain part of our community. If no response to the confirmation email is received by privacy@dance.nyc within a specified period of time stated in the email, we will consider your account inactive and subject to deletion. You may also choose to delete your profile and account from the platform at any time. When an account is deleted, all information and contributed content is removed from the site and the website database.

10. For European Union Residents

Rights under GDPR:

Visitors to this Site from the European Union have rights under the EU’s Privacy Law referred to as “GDPR” that may be exercised by emailing privacy@dance.nyc. Every visitor from the EU is entitled to the following:

Your data is secured by encryption, firewalls and Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.  This is industry standard encryption technology which manages the security of messages transmitted across the internet.  When we receive your data, we store it on secure servers which can only be accessed by the web developer Surface Impression.

Children under 16 years old are not the target audience of this website. By making this website available to the public, we do not intend to solicit personal information from children. If you are under the age of 16, please do not provide any personal information about yourself to us.
